Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), located in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, is an agency of the Department of Health and Human Services. Their Mission is to promote health and quality of life by preventing and controlling disease, injury, and disability. This site contains current information on infectious diseases, information for travellers, useful fact sheets, and ongoing research. It is a great source for statistics, too.

The scope of this website is much broader but it includes health in the context of disability. This new site is a valuable resource for accessing important government sites for all aspects of daily living.

A gateway consumer health and human services information web site from the United States government. Provides links to online publications, clearinghouses, databases, web sites and support and self-help groups, as well as government agencies and not-for-profit organizations that produce reliable information for the public.
HealthWeb
Provides links to specific, evaluated information resources on the World Wide Web selected by librarians and information professionals at leading academic medical centers in the Midwest. Published by the University of Wisconsin.
