  • November 2004 - an online survey wants your input to improve emergency transportation services for people with disabilities.   • August 2004 - Seeking individuals who use wheelchairs and either have owned a service dog for at least one year, or who do not own an assistance dog. The study is conducted by VA R&D Center of Excellence for Wheelchairs and Related Technology and the University of Pittsburgh. To be eligible you must be18 years of age or older, have a hearing or mobility impairment and ONE of the following: Use a service dog or hearing dog for at least one year OR do not own an assistance dog. If you are interested please go to this link http://www.herlpitt.org/Steph's%20webpage%20thingie/hearing_and_service_dogs.htm.   • April 2004 - Seeking individuals who use wheelchair and either own a service dog, are on a waiting list to receive a service dog, or are not interested in obtaining a service dog. The research is conducted by the VA R&D Center of Excellence for Wheelchairs and Related Technology and the University of Pittsburgh. This study is designed to examine how service dogs affect individuals who use wheelchairs in terms of function, psychological and socioeconomic factors.
