• Forward facing- frontal crashes most common
  • most practical and safe
  • required in ADA* and FMVSS 22*-(school buses)
• Rearward facing-
  • most safe, usually not practical
• Sideways facing-not recommended
  • occupant and W/C least able to withstand frontal crash loads
