Jess Markt is the Disability Sport and Inclusion Advisor to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), working to create sustainable sport and inclusion programs for people with physical disabilities in countries dealing with the effects of war and conflict around the world. He has worked with the ICRC since 2011 to build and develop wheelchair basketball programs in countries including Afghanistan, South Sudan, Palestine, Cambodia, and India.

As UCP Wheels for Humanity’s Executive Director, David has spent more than two decades in leadership and advocacy roles in the social service sector. He began his commitment to public service in 1988 as a volunteer Big Brother and as a pro bono lawyer representing homeless clients and disadvantaged children and families. David served as Associate Director of Programs at the Weingart Homeless Service Center. David was subsequently recruited to serve as the Founding Director of the HIV & AIDS Legal Services Alliance. In 2000, David was appointed President and CEO of LA Family Housing.
