Mary Goldberg, PhD

Mary serves as the Education & Outreach Project Director at the Human Engineering Research Laboratories and also is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Rehabilitation Science and Technology at the University of Pittsburgh.  She has a background in education with a concentration in rehabilitation science, psychology and Spanish.  She has served as co primary investigator on several training programs in the field of assistive technology for undergraduates, veterans, and graduate students, with a particular emphasis on students with disabilities. Rory Cooper, PhD: ISWP Co-Director

Dr. Cooper is Co-director of the International Society of Wheelchair Professionals (ISWP).  He received B.S. and M.Eng degrees in electrical engineering from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo in 1985 and 1986, respectively, and a Ph.D. in electrical and computer engineering with a concentration in bioengineering from University of California at Santa Barbara in 1989.  Dr.

Jon Pearlman, PhD: ISWP Director

Jon is Director of the International Society of Wheelchair Professionals (ISWP).  He also serves as Associate Director for Product Innovation & Translation at the University of Pittsburgh Department of Rehabilitation Science & Technology and as Associate Director of Engineering for the Human Research Engineering Lab (HERL).  Dr. Pearlman earned his BS and MS in mechanical engineering at the UC Berkeley and Cornell University, respectively.
